Hawthorn Photonics welcomes Keith E. McCurdy to its North American team

We are pleased to welcome Keith E. McCurdy to Hawthorn Photonics as Director of Laser Sales, North America. Keith joins us as we continue to develop our presence across North America and strengthen the support we provide to researchers working with laser-based applications. Bringing extensive knowledge of the North American research market, he will work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and help identify the right solutions for their applications.

With more than 35 years of experience in the laser and photonics industry, Keith has spent much of his career working with the scientific research community. His experience spans direct technical sales, sales management and senior leadership, giving him a strong understanding of both the scientific requirements of researchers and the practical considerations involved in selecting and implementing laser systems.

Most recently, Keith served as Senior Director of North America Laser Sales at MKS Instruments/Spectra-Physics, where he led the North American laser sales team. During more than 25 years with the organization, he built extensive experience in direct customer sales and sales leadership, as well as recruiting, developing and mentoring sales professionals within the photonics industry.

Earlier in his career, Keith worked in scientific research before moving into technical sales as a Territory Sales Manager in North America. He transitioned into sales management and has spent much of his career leading teams serving the research laser market.

Keith's scientific background complements his commercial experience. He holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from Rice University and a BA in Chemistry from Middlebury College. This combination of research experience, scientific knowledge and more than three decades working in lasers and photonics gives him a valuable perspective on the challenges researchers face and the solutions needed to support increasingly complex applications.

Keith's appointment further strengthens Hawthorn Photonics' North American team and our ability to support research customers with the technical knowledge, applications expertise and laser solutions required for their work.
