Our partners AdvR are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Anjul Loiacono as their new Chief Executive Officer, marking an exciting new chapter as the company strengthens its leadership to drive innovation and expand its presence in non-linear optics and quantum photonics.
Dr Loiacono brings an exceptional combination of technical depth, strategic insight, and commercial experience. She joins AdvR following a distinguished career with Thorlabs, Infleqtion, and Elevate Quantum, where she served as Chief Commercial Officer. During more than a decade at Thorlabs, she held senior roles in corporate development and strategic marketing, playing a central role in the company’s expansion into new markets and technology areas. She has also led cross-disciplinary teams focused on the commercialisation of advanced photonics and quantum technologies.
Holding a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, along with degrees from the University of Rochester and Vanderbilt University, Dr Loiacono combines scientific excellence with proven leadership in bringing complex optical systems from research into commercial deployment. She remains actively engaged in the photonics community through SPIE and other professional networks, championing innovation and strengthening community engagement across science and engineering.
As CEO, Dr Loiacono will guide AdvR’s strategic direction and commercial operations, expanding the company’s technology offering and global reach while fostering deeper collaboration with Covesion and Radiantis across the group’s photonics portfolio. She will lead AdvR’s continuing work in non-linear optics, frequency conversion, and phase modulation technologies, while enhancing partnerships across the scientific, industrial, and quantum communities.
We are also proud to have Phil Battle continue with AdvR as Technical Fellow. Phil’s contributions have been instrumental in shaping AdvR’s technical achievements, and his ongoing work will ensure continuity in the company’s pioneering research and engineering excellence.
