Director of Laser Sales – North America
Before joining Hawthorn Photonics, I was the Senior Director of North America Laser Sales at MKS-Spectra-Physics. After graduate school I worked in Research before transitioning to Sales. Initially, I worked as a Territory Sales Manager in North America before being promoted to Sales Management in 1999, where I have spent most of my career in the Lasers and Photonics industry.
Main Areas of Expertise
I have been in the Laser and Photonics industry since 1988 with a dedicated focus on the research market for laser-based applications. My areas of expertise encompass key market, applications, and business knowledge in Research and I have been a Sales leader and executive at MKS Instruments for over 25 years. I have recruited and mentored sales professionals throughout my years in the industry and have extensive sales experience in direct selling to accounts as well as leading a successful North American Laser sales team for MKS/Spectra-Physics. My Sales Management experience in the North American research market has provided me the perspective and experience to solve researcher challenges and to enable solutions for the customer and the business.
Hobbies & Interests
I am an avid golfer who appreciates all sports. I enjoy attending and watching professional sports events. I also love all genres of music and my family, friends and I regularly attend concerts. I’m married with three adult children and, most recently, became a proud grandfather in December of 2024.
Academic Achievements
Masters Degree (MS) in Chemistry from Rice University and a BA in Chemistry from Middlebury College.
