Covesion is proud to unveil the newest addition to our growing portfolio of engineered non-linear photonic components: MgO:PPLN crystals with fan-out gratings. The fan-out structure enables the phase matching to be tuned by translating the crystal across the optical aperture while the crystal temperature remains fixed.

Key features:

  • Off-the-shelf and fully custom options: Choose from a curated range of in-stock configurations, or collaborate with our technical team for a bespoke solution tailored to your system.
  • Compatible with CW and pulsed lasers: Engineered for optimal performance in both continuous wave and pulsed laser regimes.
  • Wide operating temperature range: Functionality assured from 30°C to 200°C, supporting a broad spectrum of operating environments.
  • Seamless integration with Covesion’s accessories: Fully compatible with our precision temperature controllers, ovens and accessories to ensure effortless integration and thermal stability.

Our fan-out grating MgO:PPLN crystals are particularly well suited for:

  • Optical parametric oscillators (OPOs): Optimised for broadly tunable mid-infrared (mid-IR) generation when pumped at 1064 nm.
  • Difference frequency generation (DFG): Flexible phase matching across a wide tuning range makes these crystals ideal for DFG systems targeting mid-IR outputs.

Whether you're building a high-performance research setup or integrating advanced frequency conversion into commercial solutions, Covesion’s fan-out grating designs offer an efficient method for tunable mid-IR output.
